Table language
The table language is the language spoken in the room. The owner chooses from one to three, and they're shown next to the room in the game list.
In short
- The table language is a hint for finding a room, not a rule: it blocks nobody and doesn't change the interface language.
- The owner chooses it in the first item of the creation form: from one to three languages, and the last one always stays.
- By default your interface language is filled in.
- In the game list the languages are in the “Language” column, and the “Languages” button above the list keeps only the rooms you need.
- Rooms in your language sit higher in the list, and scheduled games stay at the very top.
Why. Before you enter, you can't see what language people will speak, and it's easy to end up with people you don't understand. So next to a room in the game list there's a flag and a language code (for example, UK or EN). The first language is the main one, and each of the rest means “this one is understood here too”. The game doesn't check whether people really speak that way, and it neither lets anyone in nor turns anyone away because of language.
How to choose. The table language is the first item of the creation form. Press “What is spoken here”, find a language and click it; you can remove it with the cross. The last language always stays, and you can't choose more than three. You can search by name or code: “Deutsch”, “German” and “de” all find German. The owner can change the languages later too, in “Game Settings”.
How to find a room in your language. Above the game list there's the “Languages” button: tick the languages you need, and rooms with other languages are hidden. How many are hidden is written next to it (“Hidden: N”), and “Show all” resets the choice. Your choice is remembered on this device. When no room fits, you'll see “No rooms in these languages”. If you tick nothing, rooms in your interface language simply sit higher in the list.
