How to create a room
Press “Create Game”, choose the settings and confirm: you'll land in the new room right away, and others will see it in the game list.
In short
- The “Create Game” button is in the header (on a phone it's “+”) and on the empty screen of the game list.
- You need an account with a confirmed email: until the email is confirmed, you can't create a room.
- The main choice is “Automatic game master”: with it you play on equal terms with everyone else, and without it you become the live host and don't play yourself.
- All the settings have default values, so you can press “Create” right away.
- For the game to start, you need at least 4 players (with a live host, plus the host).
Creating. Press “Create Game” in the header (on a phone, “+”). You can create a room only with a confirmed email. If you haven't taken the host tutorial yet, the game will suggest it; that's only a suggestion, and the “Create a game anyway” button opens the form. If you have presets, you'll first see their list, and the “New game” button creates a room from scratch. In the form choose the settings and press “Create”: you'll get into the room straight away.
Who runs the game. This is the main thing you decide. With “Automatic game master”, the app runs the game and you play on equal terms with everyone else. Without it you become the host: you don't play, you see everyone's roles, you start the day and night and run the voting. Choose this only if you're ready to host: there's a host tutorial for that.
What next. You're already in the room: invite people or wait for someone to come in from the game list. With the automatic host the game starts when there are at least 4 players at the table and all of them have pressed “Ready to play”; with a live host you start it with the “Start Game” button. If nobody does anything for a long time, the game asks “Is anyone still here?”. Press “I'm still here”, or the room will close by itself.
Joining someone else's room. In the game list on the main page, press “Join” opposite the room you want. A lock means a password, and a robot icon means a game with the automatic host. If there are no seats left, there's no “Join” button; if the game is already underway, only “Observe” remains (if the owner allows it).
