Scheduled games

A scheduled game gathers at a set time: follow it, and the game will notify you when the room opens.

In short

  • It's a game on a timetable, like a calendar event: one-off or weekly. The room opens by itself shortly before the start.
  • You can find it on the main page (the “Next game” card), at the top of the game list marked “Scheduled”, or by the permanent link from an announcement.
  • “Follow” — and a notification comes when the table opens. Following doesn't reserve a seat.
  • The game can't be started before the set time: the lobby shows a countdown, and you can get acquainted.
  • Schedules are made by the game's team; a player can't create their own schedule right now.

Where to find it. On the main page, above the game list, there's a card for the nearest game with the date and time in your time zone and a countdown. When the room is open, a “Join the table” button appears on the card, and the room itself sits at the top of the game list marked “Scheduled”. There's also a permanent link from an announcement: it always shows the nearest date. Schedules are made by the game's team; a player can't create their own yet, and a regular crowd is easier to gather with a preset and an invite link.

Following. Anyone with an account can follow; a guest is first taken through signing in. You can take a seat only with a confirmed email. Following doesn't reserve a seat: people sit down in order of arrival. Can't make it this time? Press “Can't make it this time”: there won't be notifications about that date, and “I'll come after all” brings them back. “Unfollow this game” cancels the subscription entirely.

Notifications. When the table opens, followers get a push notification and an email (to a confirmed address); the same if the date is moved or cancelled. You can turn them on or off in your profile: the “Settings” tab, the “Notifications” section, the “Scheduled games” and “Scheduled game emails” items. And when you're in the app and not in a game, you'll see a message “The scheduled game … is open” with a “Join” button.

In the room. Until the set time the lobby is free socializing: come in, get acquainted, check your camera. Instead of “Ready to play” you see the “Until the start” countdown. Nobody can start the game early, not even the host. When the time comes, everything is as in an ordinary room (at least 4 players are needed). Whoever came in first runs the room (settings, kicking); if you don't want to, hand control to an experienced player through the menu on their video (“Hand over the room”). If the table never gathers, the room closes, and the link will show the next date.
