The bottom bar: microphone, camera, reactions

The bottom bar is a row of buttons under the video: microphone and camera, megaphone, reactions, invite, fullscreen and leaving the game. On a narrow screen it hides behind the “⋮” button.

In short

  • The microphone and camera each have an arrow next to them: it opens device choice and settings.
  • Reactions are a row of emojis: the emoji floats up over the video with your name. At night living players can't send reactions.
  • “Invite with a link” gives you a link to the room, “Fullscreen” removes the browser's address bar, and the red button leaves the game.
  • On a phone and a small tablet the whole bar is a single round “⋮” button: tap it, and the buttons unfold over the video.
  • An observer has no microphone, camera, megaphone or reactions.

What's where. Left to right (on a computer):

  • microphone and camera, each with a device-choice arrow;
  • megaphone: a remark during someone else's speech; everyone who votes today has it;
  • a row of reactions;
  • “Invite with a link”: a link to the room that also works for a person without an account;
  • “Fullscreen”: removes the browser bar (on iPhone it leads to the “Add to home screen” instructions);
  • “Game history” appears once the match is over;
  • “Help” opens the help over the game and doesn't take you away from the table;
  • the red “Leave Game”: in the middle of a match the game asks first. For the host and for the owner of a room with the automatic host, a room management menu stands in its place.

Microphone and camera. The button turns it on and off, and the arrow next to it opens a menu: the “Audio menu” is for choosing the microphone and speaker, the “Video menu” for choosing the camera. The gear in the menu leads to “Audio Settings” or “Video Settings”. Others hear you only while the microphone is on. When you talk, bars move on the microphone button, and a lock on it means someone else is speaking or the host has locked your microphone.

Reactions and the narrow screen. Tap an emoji: it floats up over the video with your name, and a reaction icon shows on your window for a few seconds. At night living players can't send reactions, and the game says so. On a phone and small tablet the bar collapses into the “⋮” button: tap it to unfold the buttons over the video, and tap outside the bar or swipe it away to hide it. The emojis sit behind the smiley button, and their panel stays open, so you can send several in a row.
