Speeches: who talks and when during the day

By day each living player is given the floor in turn: while one talks, the others' microphones are off, and a timer counts down their time.

In short

  • A speech is your turn to talk. Only one player has the floor at a time.
  • All living players get the floor in a round. Dead players and the host are skipped.
  • A player blocked by the prostitute at night is skipped that day: they neither speak nor vote.
  • The room owner sets the speech time. Done early? Press “Thanks” in your window.
  • You can cut into someone else's speech only with the “megaphone”: 5 seconds, then a pause.

By day the table talks in a round. While your speech is on, your microphone is open and everyone else's is off. Then the floor passes to the next player, and so on until all the living have spoken.

Each day a different player starts the round.

These players don't get the floor:

  • dead players;
  • the host, because he doesn't play;
  • a player the prostitute visited last night. If a kiss mark lies on your window, that's your block: that day you neither speak nor vote, and the turn skips you.

How a speech ends.

  • With the automatic host the floor passes on by itself: when time runs out or when you press “Thanks”. Before each speech the automatic host announces whose turn it is, but that doesn't eat into your speech time.
  • With a live host the host passes the floor on. “Thanks” works too: that's how you can end your speech yourself.

The room owner sets the speech time. The countdown is shown in the speaker's window, and in the last seconds a ticking is added.

Besides the round, there are one-off extra speeches:

  • the last word of the player the town chose in the vote;
  • with the automatic host, the last word of the victim of the night shot, in the morning before chaos time and the speech round;
  • candidates' speeches before a revote.

Their length is set by a separate room setting, “Defense”.
