Tie and revote

If the votes split evenly, those who tied speak once more and vote again. A second tie means nobody is out today.

In short

  • A tie is when two or more candidates got the same highest number of votes.
  • First tie: each of them gets an extra speech, then a revote only between them.
  • Second tie: nobody is banished, the day ends, night falls.
  • Same if there was nobody to vote against: the town chose nobody, night falls.
  • With a live host, on a tie the host chooses in his window what to do next.

A tie is when two or more candidates got the same highest number of votes. Those with fewer votes don't take part in the revote. In the tied players' windows a yellow outline is visible before the vote even ends, and there's no “eliminated” tag: a tie leads to a revote, not to elimination.

With the automatic host it goes the same way every time.

  1. First tie. The automatic host announces: “A tie. The candidates speak again.” Each of the tied candidates gets an extra speech in turn. In the room settings its length is called “Defense”.
  2. Revote. Only the tied candidates stay on the list. The votes are reset, and the same players vote again (candidates too, but not against themselves). Before that there's a short pause to see who's left.
  3. Whoever gets the most votes is out, as after an ordinary vote.
  4. Second tie. The automatic host says: “A tie again. Nobody leaves today.” The day ends, night falls.

Same if nobody got any votes and there was nobody to vote against: “the town chose nobody”, and night falls.

With a live host the decision is the host's. On a tie he sees a “Draw” window with the list of candidates. For the first tie there are two choices:

  • “Candidate Speeches”: each of them speaks once more, then the host starts the revote;
  • “Restart vote”: vote again right away.

For a repeat tie (“Second Draw”) there is only “Finish voting”: nobody is banished. If the host closes the window without choosing, the default kicks in: after the first tie — candidates' speeches, after the second — the voting ends.
